What a great experience and can’t believe that it’s free! Although the tour is in Japanese, they provide audio guide in multiple languages, so, no worry! Prior reservation is required and should be done somewhat in advance as it is full very fast.
It is nice to see overall of beer production, and get to test variations of their specialty beer at the end of the tour. It’s a worthwhile mini tour from Kyoto city. They do provide free shuttle from train station as well. Recommend!
It was a lot of fun. Well presented and interesting. The guide spoke japanese but they had an app to listen to it in english. The final tasting was a lot of fun and suntory beer was delicious.
Discovering Kyoto's gem: Suntory Brewery!
Having caught wind of the acclaim for Suntory's beer tour online, I promptly secured a reservation, and our journey commenced with a gracious shuttle service and a warm reception from the attentive staff. Surprisingly, this beer tour comes at no cost.
The tour process is very organized, they provided a foreign language app and manual, making it accessible even for non-Japanese speakers. For the ultimate tasting experience, I found the second beer, 香るエール, to be a standout, though most opted for the third beer, Masters Dream. The initial Premium Melts beer is a common find in stores, and there's an on-site shop for beer enthusiasts.
Initially hesitant to purchase on the spot, I later regretted not buying the second and third beers, as they weren't readily available in most stores. A valuable tip: seize the opportunity to buy on-site, particularly if you fancy the second and third beer varieties.
In conclusion, Suntory's commitment to customer satisfaction shone through in their detailed explanations and a flawless final tasting. I'm left longing for the exquisite 香るエール beer!
Free guided tour with reservation. They weren't making beer that day when we went. Check ahead when the factory will be active. The free beer at the end was top-notch. Got tipsy from the AM. Much recommended.
Best beers and malt whiskey producer in Japan,
I've never visited to beer-factory. And im really thanksful for visiting here first around all the beer factories.
staffs are really kind and it was new experience for me.
Also tastes great. I wanna go again!
We went on the factory tour and got to see how everything was made. If was a really interesting tour but we had to use an audio tour while following a Japanese led tour. This isn't a negative, just a heads up as it helped a lot and followed what our tour guide was walking us through. At the end you get to try their different beers and indulge in your favorite. Would highly recommend just to get to try the different beer they make!
They offer free factory tours by reservation. As I am a big fan of The Premium Malts, it's been always a joy to visit there to appreciate the facts behind the beer.
Two tours they offer but highly recommend the premium malts tour, at the end of the tour they give you three glasses of lager or ale, non alcohol drinks, too. Free shuttle bus to closest train stations so that you don't have to worry about driving back home.
They intebtionally serve the foam of beer only to let you taste how thick and fruity it is. Calling it 'foam divine'. sampling roasted barley and smell the hops.
